My favorite meal in Paris, France.

I enjoyed sitting outside the cute little restaurant.

Foie gras was a creamy, rich buttery pillow of fatty liver. How though? Shoutout to the chef, the duck breast was on point. The duck breast was cooked to perfection with a bit of seared fat on top and juicy and tender on the inside with a side of fluffy mashed potatoes.Pair your meal with a glass of wine to bring it all together.

As a foodie, this meal made my whole trip.

When I return to the city I will most definitly go back and purchase the whole menu.

    First meal in Paris.

My friend made reservations here bc she heard it's very good, esp the foi gras raviolis. I tried one and it was indeed very good. Except I couldn't really enjoy the food as much as I wanted bc I couldn't eat a lot of the dishes on the menu.

We actually meet up with my friend's cousin and her husband bc they happened to be visiting at the same time. They recommended the onion soup and that you should not share bc it is that good. It was indeed good but I thought it was a lot for one. I could hardly eat my main entree after the onion soup. So I recommend sharing one soup for two if you're interested to try. You can always order another if you feel like you didn't had enough.

I had the cassoulet gratine du comptoir as the main entree bc this is pretty much the only thing I can eat lol The duck leg was good. One of the sausages were good too bc it wasn't salty at all. But the sauce itself was a little too salty for me. I don't think I even finished half it bc I was too full from drinking the onion soup.

Anyway, the seats are pretty tight and close to each other bc it's not a very big restaurant. Services we received was good. The price was very good too for the quality of the food. Wish I could try the duck breast. Hump

The best French restaurant I visited during my whole trip. We were seated immediately and the staff was attentive and friendly as well! It is also a hot tourist spot. We got lucky being able to get seats quickly because it was during lunch.

We ordered a good amount of food. It was my first time trying escargot, and definitely well worth the try. The escargot was pretty big, but had pesto butter and garlic. Tasted so good!! You can also dip your baguette in the sauce (well, whatever is left of it). After our escargot, we had a duck ravioli in a cream sauce and duck breast with mashed potatoes. The duck breast was my favorite over the ravioli. Very tender and juicy. The mashed potatoes was a great compliment to the dish along with the sauce the came with it. The ravioli had a very creamy buttery taste which I enjoyed but I still rave about that duck breast.

This restaurant was easily my favorite and I will return again once I land in Paris soon!

It was cold and damp outside today.  We wanted a hot cozy lunch, fortunately Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie was next to Bovida (one of my favorite cookware stores).

Realized one needs a reservation to seat inside.  However, the woman working there realized we were cold and pulled some strings to get us an indoor table.  Such nice people work in this place.

Ordered a 50 cl carafe of white wine from Quincy.  It was cold, crisp and delicious.  At 18 Euros it was an amazing deal.  I understand good wine and $20 for a carafe of wine at home gets me nothing remotely close to what we drank today.

We then split their Escargot Borgogne, probably the best snails I have ever had.  There was just the correct amount of butter, garlic and parsley.  They were served very hot.  Perfection.

Next was a huge bowl of Soupe A L'Oignon Gratine, probably the best French onion soup of my life.  The rich beef broth combined with amazing onions, melted cheese to die for atop French bread was the perfect combination.  I will definitely have this again before we leave Paris.

Dan had their Cassoulet Gratine.  It was flawless cassoulet, a dish I rarely see made right.  Every part of his cassoulet was textbook perfect.

Prices are quite fair for French food of this caliber.  I plan to dine here on all future trips to France

WOW, just WOW. I never write reviews for out of country, or even out of state restaurants, but I had to for Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie. After foie gras was banned in CA, I was excited to head to Europe where it is plentiful. I found this restaurant via Yelp and made reseverations as soon as I could for mine and my fiance's trip to Paris. I highly recommend reservations, because when we ate around 7pm, there was a long line outside in the rain + cold!!

We ordered a few things to share. We started with 6 escargot, and our entrees were the pan seared foie and the foie ravioli. The escargot was lovely. It was my fiance's first time trying it and he liked it! We loved dipping the bread into the little divots after too. The entrees came out shortly after and we split half half. I got to try the foie ravioli first and O.M.G it was literally heaven in my mouth. The buttery foie paired with the truffle sauce was next level. We ended up scraping up all the sauce with the bread because it was that good. I even ate a spoonful of sauce at one point, lol. The seared foie was just as good with the bread and fruit. The salad cut into the richness, which I appreciated. It was also a huge portion! For that price in the states, it would probably be half that size (or less). Soooo decadent.

Overall a great meal if you are in Paris. Remember to make a rezzie!
